Choir Auditions 2021-2022

Choir auditions for the 2020 - 2021 school year will be 2/1 - 2/9 during the choir class periods! Auditions are held early in the spring semester before arena scheduling. It is our hope this helps with your planning for the next school year.

We have 4 ​auditioned ​ensembles at Carroll Senior High School.

1. Cantoras (Intermediate Soprano-Alto)
2. Bella Voce (Advanced Soprano-Alto)
3. Encore (Show Choir/Vocal A Cappella Ensemble)* Auditions for Encore will be May 10th and 11th (Both days are required)
4. Chorale (Advanced Mixed Choir)

​We have 2 non-auditioned ensembles at Carroll Senior High School.

1. Bel Canto (First year in High School Choir Soprano-Alto)
2. Dragon Corps (First year in High School Choir Tenor-Bass)

If you are happy with singing in Dragon Corps or Bel Canto and would like to remain, you can! However, all will complete the audition unit.

Instructions for Auditioning

1. Select the Audition Video for your voice part below.

• The video will guide you through recording and submitting a video of the singing portion of your audition. 
  • In order to audition, you will need the following things:
    • A computer with a webcam or a phone that can video record your audition. 
    • Headphones
  • There are two parts to the singing portion of your audition:
    • Vocalization
      • You will be vocalized up on “ah”
      • You will be vocalized  down on “ah”
    • Students will sing “My Country ‘tis of Thee”. You must sing the first verse from memory. (Link to PDF​) (Link to Music​)
      • Sopranos - Key of A-flat
      • Altos - Key of E-flat
      • Tenors - Key of A-flat
      • Basses - Key of D​
• Once you have completed recording the singing portion of your audition, you will submit your video using the Google form below.

2. Complete the Audition Sightreading Assignment on Sightreading Factory.

• The sight-reading audition assignment is due by Tuesday, February 9th.
• The assignment is entitled, "Choir Auditions 2021"
• If you are unable to locate the Audition Sight-reading Assignment, please contact Mr. Doucet ([email protected]) or Mr. Ramos ([email protected]) for assistance.

Placement will be based on the results of the audition tabulation. Students are not allowed to change courses without Director approval. Audition results will be posted Friday, February 26, 2021 at 12:00 pm.
