ACDA 2019

Greetings!

Here is a WONDERFUL optional opportunity for our students!  The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) has a National Honor Choir that performs during its biannual conference.  This year ACDA will be held in Kansas City, MO, February 27th – March 2nd.  Last year we had four students participated in the Southwestern Division of ACDA in Oklahoma City.  In 2017, we had two students who performed with the internationally acclaimed conductor/composer, Eric Whitacre at National ACDA in Minneapolis, MN!  Video clip of rehearsal: https://youtu.be/KfHfWHsdc5Q

Auditions
All auditions will consist of three separate recordings:

• Ascending and descending scale on "ah"
• Prepared excerpt performed with provided accompaniment (See link above)
• 60-seconds of a vocal solo of your choice, a cappella or accompanied

Recordings will happen Tuesday, September 25th in the choir room.  Students will be responsible for the $30 entry fee.  Make check payable to: “Carroll Choir Booster Club”.  If selected for the Honor Choir, parents are financially responsible for the entirety of the trip.
This Honor Choir is a wonderful way to continue develop your child’s audition skills and increase their musical ability.  Many students also use ACDA National Honor Choir as a networking tool with musician from across the country!
