Kristen Martin is a versatile, classically-trained singer and pianist with over 30 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education in vocal music from Centenary College of Louisiana and a Master of Educational Administration from LSU. Kristen’s diverse musical background includes music theater (both performing and directing), opera, studio recording, television, contemporary Christian music, and church music. Her performance credits include the Fort Worth Opera, Lyric Stage, Regal Opera Company, Watertower Theatre, Continental Singers tour, and numerous local theaters.
Kristen has played a significant role in advancing music education through her leadership and service. She served seven years as Audition Chair on the board of directors for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she continues as the webmaster. She is also an active member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), serving as the publications chair and a member of the scholarship committee, as well as the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).
In addition to her extensive professional involvement, Kristen has been a choir director in public schools in Louisiana and Texas, consistently guiding her students to achieve high honors. Her students regularly become finalists in NATS competitions and earn spots in the prestigious Texas All-State Choir.
