WHO ARE THE SLC?
The SLC was founded in 2022 by former Carroll Senior High School Director of Choirs, Jen Randall. Randall brought decades of show choir experience and notable milestones in Texas Show Choir, as Randall founded the first competitive show choir AND the first show choir competition in the State of Texas: Voices of Central and the Lone Star Show Choir Invitational at Keller Central High School. The SLC is primarily composed of Mixed Choir Singers Grades 10-12 with a select few 9th Grade Tenor/Basses.
Since it's creation, The SLC has competed locally at the Cowtown Classic Show Choir Invitational and Lone Star Show Choir Invitational. In the 2025 Season, their THIRD season as a competitive show choir, they placed on the podium in the Cowtown Classic Open Division earning 6th place overall AND made finals at the Lone Star Show Choir Invitational, ultimately earning 4th runner up in the Open Division category. The SLC competed in it's first national competition in 2024, their SECOND season as a competitive show choir, where at the 2024 Lewis Central Clash of the Titans they earned the honorable Gary Fiscus Spirit Award. In 2o25, they hosted their first ever show choir competition, Southlake Showdown, which quickly gained a reputation as one of the top show choir competitions in the DFW Metroplex.
The SLC has seen a rapid upward trajectory in only three seasons as a competitive show choir. For their 2025-2026 season, they are now under the direction of the recently appointed Carroll Senior High School Director of Choirs, Casey LeVie. LeVie, like Randall, has show choir roots at Keller Central High School, having been the director of Central's Non-Varsity Show Choir "Voltage" for three competitive seasons. Under her direction, Voltage repeatedly placed top 2 in the Prep Division category and by her last season were placing on the podium in the Open Division category, having earned 6th place in the North Texas Show Choir Invitational Open Division. Her last season at Central, LeVie took Voltage to the national show choir competition scene for the first time in program history, where they placed 4th in the Single Clef Division at the Biloxi Gulf Coast Classic. The SLC under LeVie's direction is sure to continue on it's journey of rapid, strong growth and will surely continue to surprise people as they take the competition stage this 2026 season.
